The past 20 to 30 years has seen a spur in technological inventions that no one could have anticipated for. This has made it possible to predict new inventions in the tech space and inventors as well to reenvision how existing tech can be used. Not to say that new spectacular inventions have not been made, but the main emphasis is on how existing technology can be used or made better. However, a new era of digital innovation is soon coming by where techeez will go back to their drawing boards and start to come up with a totally new innovation that is bound to create a radical shift to the manner in which we view technology today. This shift in thinking will definitely lead the way towards a new era of digital innovation, and era reminiscent of the 1950’s and 60’s when the first building blocks were being put down in making computers and the internet.
The tipping point of technology is said to be in 2020. We should expect an end to lithium ion batteries that we so used to in providing power to our phones and laptops. Changes will also be expected in the auto industry with more people expected to purchase electric cars due to their cheap nature and their environmentally friendly effects. Solar power will also be on an increase and more of the world’s population will be connected to it. In other words, a new age of technology will rise in 2020 and if all news is to go by, we should expect out of the world inventions in the tech space that affect different industries and create new markets that never existed before.
Learning the ropes
For the past 20 years, things have gone so fast in the tech world and new inventions are coming up with equal speed. However in the years after 2020, most of these new inventions will start to be used and people will get to understand what challenges and benefits these technologies hold. Things such as quantum computing and new fields such as genomics will illuminate new ways of building cutting edge technology that any ordinary person couldn’t imagine in their wildest of imaginations.
However, the gap between academic research and commercialization will need to be bridged in order to bring the technologies out into the world. The role that is primarily that of governments will have to shift to the private sector as well. Working at a fast pace will not be helpful to inventors, but rather understanding the implications of what they are developing in order to speedily track its implementation.

We should expect a new era of modernization and what we know now may get obsolete in 20 years to come. A new form of modernization will make it possible to achieve a lot of things but it will only be possible if all relevant bodies tasked with innovating and commercializing the product, work together.
